TASTING NOTES: REBORN

WEST COAST IPA

6.0% ABV

By Wavemaker Craft Brewery & Distillery

Appearance: Pours a luminous and hazy tangerine orange.  Foam is a pithy off-white orange that lingers and laces on the glass.

Aroma:  Nose is bright and heavy on tropical citrus.  I also get notes of cantaloupe with faint bits of lychee.

Flavour Profile: The juicy theme continues to the sip from the aroma.  Bitterness is rounded and firm.  I get flavours of pineapple, tangerine and soft peach in the mix.  Finish is smooth with a mouth coating dose of lupulin flavouring.

Overall: A true to style west coast IPA that is packed with tropical hop flavours. Reborn hides its 6.0% abv well, and has tempting flavours that make this beer hard to put down.

Pairing: I had this beer with some spicy fish tacos.  The bitterness kept the spice in check and was quite complimentary to the cilantro in the salsa.
